What can EQBuddy help me do?

Every capture and clip on this page is a real Evolved build driven by the repo’s own harness — character names are test fixtures.

The Guide room: a Ready-to-turn-in banner naming the Belt of the Four Winds with a Mark-turned-in button, and below it the Runed Wind Amulet opened with its NEXT step pinned — Loot a Wind Rune Azia from Plane of Sky trash — with Done and Skip controls

“What should I do in Plane of Sky?”

One step pinned as NEXT, naming who, where and what. Loot in your log ticks the checklist by itself.

The Helper room with Farm Gear picked: better base items than the worn Cloth Cap, each naming the creature that drops it, grouped under the zone

“How do I upgrade this?”

Starts from what you are wearing, and names the creature and the zone that drop something better.

The World page’s Drops tab: per-creature kill counts with observed drop rates, and drops the wiki doesn’t know yet marked for contribution

“Where should I hunt?”

Every camp you sit is measured — kills, drops, rates. The Helper ranks zones from that evidence, and marks one down once you have outgrown it.

The World window’s Camps tab: Runnyeye Citadel’s named spawns listed with editable respawn timers, a Died column and per-mob alert controls

“When will it spawn?”

Timers learned from your own kills, counting down beside the map.

02

Built for playing, not managing software

While you play, the whole app is one thin tray of the numbers you chose. Everything deeper is one gesture away.

The minimized tray: a presence dot and character name, then chips for melee DPS, XP rate, kills, pet DPS, proc rate, loot count, mote rate, coin and a death counter, with expand and close buttons
Animation: the pointer clicks the tray’s expand button and the full widget opens in place; it stars pet damage on the Combat card and the Motes card’s own star, minimizes back to the tray — which now carries pet DPS, motes and coin chips — then drags the pet chip left beside the DPS number, where it joins the always-on row, and the third slot swaps from XP rate to healing per second
Star what you watch. The tray builds itself from your stars — drag a chip to reorder it.
Animation: the pointer hovers the tray’s loot chip and the loot card opens under the bar for the creature being fought — a Giant spider, 15 kills this session — listing Spider Silk, Spider Legs and Spider Venom Sac with the count picked up so far; the pointer slides to the DPS chip and the card follows with that fight’s damage by ability, then moves away and the card closes
Hover to peek. The card opens under the chip and is gone when you leave. Click to keep it open, or drag it where you want it parked.
03

Your character. Your history. Your guide.

Not a generic “best in slot” list. EQBuddy learns from your own play and connects it into one path.

Gear

Which upgrades are meaningful for what you are wearing now.

Quest

Which quest provides it, and what you are already able to turn in.

Mob

Which creature drops it — and whether your own fight history says the content suits you.

Camp

Spawn timers learned from your kills, on the map where you saw them.

Route

The zones between where you stand and where it is.

The more you play, the more of that path is yours.

Built differently

Private by design

Local-first. No account, no cloud, and nothing sent off your PC unless you opt in.

Safe for EQ

Reads only what the game writes for you: your /log, and the /outputfile dumps you ask for — inventory, achievements, faction, spellbook. No game-memory reads, no automation, no injection.

Personal, not competitive

It measures only you — never a way to judge other players.

Evidence over guesses

What EQBuddy counted is labelled observed; what it inferred says estimated.
